A medieval soldier is waiting for his turn before taking part in one of the fights taking place in the shadow of the great medieval castle of the Byzantine village of Crecchio.
"At Dinner With The Byzantines", the famous historical commemoration that features the ancient streets of Crecchio, an Abruzzo town of less than 3,000 inhabitants that still retains much of its medieval appearance, although its history goes much further back in time, reaching back to prehistoric times. As always the emphasis is on the period of Byzantine domination of the village (sixth century) and on the clashes that have seen the Byzantines and Lombards protagonists.
