Streets of Malaga, Felix Saenz Square - 01
The Plaza de Féliz Sáenz is a square in the historic center of the city of Málaga, Spain. It is located at the confluence of Nueva, San Juan, Sagasta, Esparteros and Puerta del Mar streets.
Formerly known as the Alhóndiga, the square is named after Félix Sáenz Calvo, a merchant of La Rioja origin who became deputy mayor of the town hall and Life Senator of the Kingdom. Among the buildings that surround it, the building of the old Félix Sáenz warehouses stands out, one of the most notorious modernist works in the city. In the year 2000, in the center of the square, the work Casa dorada para pájaros was installed, by the Catalan sculptor Jaume Plensa.
