Rome - St Peter Basilica by Andrea Mazzocchetti

Some details of the wonderful St. Peter's Basilica, in Vatican City, and the colonnade of the square designed by Bernini. History, art and culture blend together, while in the background we enjoy the blue sky of a beautiful sunny day in Rome, the Eternal City. The charm of this place is unique, as unique are the views that can be seen in many different ways.
Designed principally by Donato Bramante, Michelangelo, Carlo Maderno and Gian Lorenzo Bernini, St. Peter's is the most renowned work of Renaissance architecture and one of the largest churches in the world.
Gian Lorenzo Bernini designed also the St Peters square, including the massive Tuscan colonnades, four columns deep, which embrace visitors in "the maternal arms of Mother Church", in Bernini's expression.
