Hawker Tempest - 04 by Andrea Mazzocchetti
The Hawker Tempest, evolution of the previous Typhoon, was a monoplane and single-engine fighter-bomber designed by the British aeronautical company Hawker Aircraft and used mainly by the Royal Air Force; made with different engines, entered service during the Second World War and remained in the air forces departments of India and Pakistan until the second half of the fifties.
While the Hawker and the RAF were struggling with the development problems highlighted by the Typhoon, as early as March 1940, Sydney Camm and his team considered reworking the project focusing in particular on the revised wing, considered the main cause the unsatisfactory high-altitude performance of the new fighter.
