Description
Seville, Plaza de Espana in Yellow by Andrea Mazzocchetti
An artwork inspired by the famous Plaza De Espana (Square of Spain) in the city of Seville, the jewel and capital of Andalusia, in the deep South of Spain. It is a square that leaves you breathless for its absolutely impressive structure and for the art that covers every inch. It is a square created for the Ibero-American exhibition of 1929, in perfect Neo-Moorish style. The whole square is located inside the immense Maria Luisa Park, whose spaces were donated to the city by Maria Luisa, Duchess of Montpensier, in 1893. The square, designed by the architect Anibal Gonzalez, is characterized by a semicircular shape and river flowing in the middle, surmounted by 4 bridges that depict the ancient 4 kingdoms of the Iberian Peninsula.
